Chemical Peels

What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, typically on the face, neck, or hands. The solution is formulated to exfoliate the outermost layers of the skin, promoting cell turnover and revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. Chemical peels can improve skin tone, texture, and clarity, and they may also stimulate collagen production, leading to a more youthful appearance.

Are there different types of peels?

Chemical peels are categorized into three main types based on their depth: superficial, medium, and deep. The depth of the peel determines the extent of skin exfoliation and the specific skin concerns it can address.

What is the Vi Peel®?

The VI Peel® is a medium depth peel that contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types. VI Peel® will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reduce age spots, improve hyperpigmentation (including melasma), soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars; and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin. VI Peel® Body will also improve common conditions of the body like tinea versicolor, keratosis pilaris, and acanthosis nigricans while stimulating the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.

What will my appointment be like?

When you first arrive, we will discuss expectations and review consents/intake forms. We will then proceed to cleanse the area to be treated very well. We then prep the skin with an acetone to prepare for the best penetration of the peel. The peel is then applied. The entire appointment may take about 20 minutes.

What can I expect afterwards?

After your peel is applied, you will leave your appointment with the peel solution still on your skin. You will need to leave this peel on for 4 hours before cleansing your face. You will also go home with instructions for the next 7 days and an aftercare kit, so no need for guessing! You can repeat in 4 weeks!
